FAQ
Prep and Aftercare
General
For best results, follow these preparation guidelines...
Waxing and shaving
Complete all waxing and shaving at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. If shaving, use a razor without a moisture strip to avoid residue on the skin.
Exfoliation
Exfoliate 24 hours before your tan using an exfoliating mitt and a gel based body wash. Avoid oil based scrubs, as they leave a barrier that prevents even development.
Spa treatments
Your spray tan should be your final beauty treatment. Please complete facials and massages the day prior.
Arrive product free
Skin must be completely clean and free of moisturiser, oils, deodorant, perfume and makeup. Even light product residue can interfere with development.
Showering
Use a gel based body wash. Avoid creamy washes as they can leave residue. Shower at least 4 hours before your appointment to allow your skin’s pH to rebalance. If you need to shower closer to your appointment time, finish with cool water.
Manicure and pedicure appointments
Schedule mani and pedi treatments the day before your tan. If done on the same day, avoid soaking, oils and lotions. If completed after your tan, soaking and acetone may affect the fade.
Clothing
Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and open toed slides or sandals. A light bronzer is used during application and may transfer, however it is water soluble and will wash out.
If it is raining, opt for closed shoes such as Uggs, long pants, a hoodie and bring an umbrella to protect your fresh tan.
To protect your colour and extend longevity, follow these aftercare guidelines...
Before your first rinse
Avoid water, sweating, lotions and liquid foundation until your designated rinse time. Allow your tan to develop undisturbed.
If you have pets, try to avoid direct contact while your tan is processing.
First rinse
Rinse at your instructed time using lukewarm water only. Do not use soap. If you notice any residual bronzer, gently guide it off with your hands. Your true colour will continue developing over the next 24 hours.
Avoid touching during development
Touching your skin while the tan is developing may result in stained palms.
Hydration
Drink plenty of water and keep your skin well hydrated. Hydrated skin holds colour longer and fades more evenly.
Future showers
Avoid loofahs, scrubs and flannels. Cleanse gently with your hands and use a gel based body wash.
Lifestyle considerations
Long hot showers, baths, swimming, saunas and excessive sweating will accelerate fading. If these are part of your routine, expect a shorter wear time.
Moisturise daily
Moisturise every day using a product free from mineral oil and artificial fragrance. A tan extending lotion can be introduced after day two.
Exfoliation
Avoid exfoliating until you are ready to remove your tan.
You are welcome to wear as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Disposable g strings and hair nets are provided.
You may leave your own underwear on or wear none. Going braless is recommended to avoid tan lines and allow for the most seamless result. If you prefer to wear a bra, strapless is best.
Your comfort is always prioritised.
