Sarah's
story
Growing up, I was always the friend who self-tanned. It was something I did religiously every week, long before I ever imagined it becoming my career.
After having my daughter in 2021, I experienced postnatal depression. During that time, the one thing I consistently returned to was my tan. It became a small but grounding ritual that helped me feel like myself again, restoring a sense of confidence when I needed it most.
That experience changed how I viewed spray tanning. I saw first-hand how closely confidence and wellbeing are connected, and how powerful it can be to feel comfortable in your own skin.
As I looked around, I noticed that spray tanning was often treated as an afterthought. Appointments felt rushed, education was minimal, and the experience rarely reflected the impact it could have. Spray tanning had earned a reputation that didn’t match its potential.
I wanted to change that.
This studio was created to offer a considered, professional spray tanning experience where time, technique, and education matter. Every appointment is unhurried, personalised, and built around consistency and care, so clients know exactly what to expect each time they book.
Because confidence changes how you show up. You wear the tops and the shorts. You feel more comfortable in your body. Whether you’re navigating motherhood, work, or everyday life, you deserve a service that supports how you feel, not just how you look.

Sarah's
background
I don’t think anyone really plans to become a spray tan artist.
I studied fashion design and spent around five years working in Trelise Cooper’s design room. It was a fast paced, creative, and highly detail driven environment that shaped the way I think about aesthetics, precision, and creating something that feels considered and well executed.
After that, I travelled, had my daughter, and when my maternity leave came to an end, I found myself in a really low place and in a career rut. At the same time, I knew I had the freedom to build something entirely my own. I didn’t want to return to fashion design. While I loved the creative intensity, the pace was faster and more demanding than the life I wanted for myself or my family long term.
Spray tanning had been part of my life since I first discovered it and the confidence it gave me. It wasn’t new to me, and it wasn’t a trend I’d discovered. It was a ritual I’d relied on long before it ever became my profession. Around that time, I realised that while spray tanning was available, the kind of considered, elevated experience I believed in simply didn’t exist.
So I put everything into building it.
I began in a home studio and grew the business there for three years, before moving into my current studio on Picton Street in Howick. Over that time, I refined my technique, my process, and my standards.
I am contour certified, including master contour certification, and currently the only local studio offering soft contour spray tanning using subtle, shadow like shading. Spray tanning is now my full time profession and sole focus.
Starting this business is the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve never been happier, and helping women feel confident and comfortable in their skin every day is incredibly rewarding.
